Australia
37 of Australia’s 43 universities are ranked in QS WUR 2027, and 9 sit in the global top 100. UNSW Sydney leads at #19, followed by Melbourne (#22), Sydney (#28), ANU (#29) and Monash (#31).
USA
The USA has 184 ranked universities, more than any other country. MIT holds #1 for the 15th year running, Stanford is joint #2, and Harvard is #5. Nine US universities are in the global top 20.
United Kingdom (UK)
The UK has 93 ranked universities, including four in the global top 10. Imperial College London is joint #2, Oxford is #4, Cambridge is #6, and UCL is joint #8. 16 UK institutions are in the global top 100.
Canada
Four Canadian universities are in the global top 100. McGill leads at #30, followed by the University of Toronto (#32), UBC (#45), and the University of Alberta (#96).
Germany
Germany has 60 ranked universities. TUM is #25 and the only German university in the global top 50. LMU Munich is #61, Heidelberg is #86, and Freie Universität Berlin is joint #98.
Ireland
Two Irish universities are in the global top 100. Trinity College Dublin holds #75, its fifth straight year in the top 100. UCD climbs 18 places to #100, its first top-100 entry in over 15 years.
New Zealand
All eight New Zealand universities are ranked, and all eight are in the global top 500. The University of Auckland leads at #67, followed by Otago (#198), Massey (#215) and Victoria University of Wellington (#241).
Dubai
The UAE has 12 ranked universities, six of them in the global top 500. Khalifa University climbs 30 places to #147. UAE University is #217, and the American University of Sharjah is #258.

Mainland China has 85 ranked universities and recorded more upward moves and new entrants than any other country. Peking University is #13, and Tsinghua is #14. Fudan (#26), Shanghai Jiao Tong (#36), and Zhejiang (#47) are also in the top 50.
